SAMPLE ACTIVITIES

Grades:   11-12

Unit of Credit: 1

Prerequisite:   Creative Crafts

Students will continue to work in a variety of craft media, at a more in-depth level.   As in Creative Crafts, projects emphasize historical and societal influences as they reflect cultural diversity. Students will work with more advanced techniques while they explore clay, wood, fiber, plaster, wire and carving compounds. Projects will include handwoven and macramé native American dreamcatchers, decorative wearable art, silk painting, polymer clay millefiore beads, birdhouse wood constructions, stained glass panels, and CD clock design. Advanced techniques include glass fusing, soldering and bending, woodworking with jig and band saws, and pulp casting.
